We all know, and maybe some dread, that laundry is not truly complete until you its all folded and put away. It also really doesn’t count if the piles of neatly folded laundry, that you just spent precious time folding, stay on the couch. There are no amount of tips and tricks that will help this chore disappear, but here are a few tips to help make folding laundry a little less daunting.
1. Fold laundry with a favorite podcast or new music or even a new movie you have been waiting to watch.
2. Get the family involved, have your children fold towels and washcloths. Let’s face it, its not really about the laundry, its about family time and maybe even instilling a little household management skills at the same time.
3. Stop the madness known as mating socks. You can wash each individual’s socks in their own mesh bag to help with mating. Or you can simply use binder clips to keep mates together during the wash.
4. Do you ever notice that one shirt or pair of pants that keeps going thru the laundry cycle but has never been worn? Clear out your laundry clutter by clearing out your drawers and closets. While clearing out drawers and closets isn’t really much fun either, it can make your laundry day much easier.
5. Last but not least, my personal favorite…. I use laundry folding time as an excuse to call friends I haven’t spoken to in a while. Just put your phone on speaker and gossip away. Those jeans will all be folded before you know it.
Hoping it all comes out in the wash, Jane
